What are PDFs and how do I read them?
PDF means “Portable Document Format”. You can open these files with a programme called Adobe Acrobat Reader which you can download for free from Adobe’s website. Adobe also have an accessibility website, and newer versions of Acrobat Reader have a Read Out Loud tool.
How can I read a Word file if I don’t have Microsoft Word software?
A free Word viewer is available from Microsoft or open source versions of similar software can be downloaded here.
