Do you want to know more about your bike and learn some tricks and tips on how to keep it in peak condition? Are you keen to get your hands dirty and find out how to fix a puncture or find out how to make everyday adjustments to your bike?

We can help! Come along to one of our courses at The Bike Station where our professional mechanics will help you learn in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We can give you the skills you need to keep your bike on the road and avoid steep repair bills.

Please note, as it’s a hands-on course you might get dirty, so don’t wear your best suit or dress!

General Bike Maintenance

Cost per Person: £120
Class Size: Min 3 -Max 6

This is a 5 hour session held in our bespoke training workshop. You will start with your new bike in a box; we’ll guide you step-by-step through the process of building and adjusting your new bike. We’ll cover all the basics, from puncture repair and how best to clean your bike, through to how to adjust your gears and brakes, and how to tell when your bike needs some mechanical attention. The class is delivered in an informal, not-too-techie way which should appeal to those who want to start at the beginning and learn all the basics.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to help you increase your understanding of how your bike works, to increase confidence in all things mechanical relating to your bike, and to help you form personal connections with your bikes.

Outcomes

After the course you will:

  • Be able to fix a puncture.
  • Know the best way to clean and maintain your bike.
  • Understand more about how your bike works.
  • Know how to adjust your gears.
  • Know how to adjust your brakes.
  • Know what your bike is trying to say to you when it makes noises.

Puncture Repair Made Easy

Cost per Person: £20
Class Size: Min 5 – Max 8

This is a 2 hour session held in our bespoke training workshop. The course covers one of the most common bike problems; how to fix a puncture. Maybe you have a puncture and you don’t know how to fix it, or you just don’t ride your bike for the fear of getting punctures, we can help you to get back out on your bike! You’ll even get to keep the puncture repair kit that you will use during the class.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to help you to enjoy life with a bike, and to demonstrate that punctures are easy fixes and nothing to be worried about.

Outcomes

After the course you will:

  • Be able to fix a puncture with confidence.
  • Understand why punctures happen.
  • Know how to avoid/reduce the chances of punctures.
  • Have a puncture repair kit to take with you (mysteriously just having this with you will reduce the chances of getting a puncture).

Build Your New Bike (BYNB) – New Course!

Cost per Person:  £420 (includes £300 bike)
Class Size: Min 3 – Max 6

This is a 5 hour session held in our bespoke training workshop. You will start with your new bike in a box; we’ll guide you step-by-step through the process of building and adjusting your new bike. We’ll cover all the basics, from puncture repair and how best to clean your bike, through to how to adjust your gears and brakes, and how to tell when your bike needs some mechanical attention. The class is delivered in an informal, not-too-techie way which should appeal to those who want to start at the beginning and learn all the basics. We’ll also double-check your bike and make sure it runs like a dream before you ride off into the sunset. Your new bike will come with a 1 year warranty. Lunch is also included!
