A New Chapter: The Bike Station Moves to Lauriston Place

We’re excited to share some big news: The Bike Station is moving to a new home at 141 Lauriston Place, Edinburgh, EH3 9JN! This marks a significant step forward for us as we continue our work in sustainable, inclusive, community-driven cycling.

While we are deeply saddened to see Cargo Bike Movement wind up, we are honoured to carry forward their vision and mission. Cargo bikes are an essential part of the future of sustainable transport—offering practical, low-carbon solutions for individuals, families, and businesses—and we are committed to ensuring their impact continues.

What’s Next?

As we settle into Lauriston Place, we’re eager to explore how, subject to funding, we can further integrate cargo bikes into our work. This could mean expanding access through existing community initiatives like the Wee Bike Library and Shifting Gears, making cycling even more accessible for people of all backgrounds.

But this move is about more than just a new space—it’s an opportunity to reimagine how cycling can serve our communities.

Our new home will allow us to:

✅ Continue refurbishing bikes and keeping them in circulation.

✅ Reduce waste and champion repair culture.

✅ Reinvest in people and places, ensuring cycling is for everyone.

✅ Support a growing cargo bike community in Edinburgh.

We’re incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our community as we take this exciting step forward. While we don’t yet have an official opening date, we expect to welcome you to Lauriston Place in late spring or early summer 2025.
